Costa Rica: 200 km walk against Crucitas mine

On Sunday, 29 August at about 10:30 in the morning the 200 km anti-mining 'Walk for the Life' reached San Jose.

Tired physically, but with their spirit stronger than ever, dozens of neighbors from villages in the surrounding areas of the Crucitas mining project reached the capital city to deliver a series of requests to the President Laura Chinchilla, includinga request to permanently put a stop to the project.

Many other people joined the villagers during each of the seven segments (more than 200 km) they walked and when they finally arrived in San Jose, they numbered more than 2,000 people.
