Advocating for the rights to water and sanitation

The rights to water and sanitation is the most important theme for the network and from the early days of its inception FAN has been lobbying for governments to recognize water as a human right.

Water, Climate Change and the environment

FAN works in partnership with the Water and Climate Coalition (WCC), who have been leading efforts to ensure the UNFCCC outcomes clearly recognize the importance of water.

Sustainable development

Governance and transparency

In partnership with WaterAid, FAN is working in 16 countries with partners to support capacity building for local organisations towards improved governance, transparency and accountability in the sector.

World Water Forum 

Over the years, FAN has supported members to make their voices heard at this forum, the largest water event in the world. 

Stockholm Water Week

FAN supports members to raise the profile of their work through attending this key learning and networking event. 

Influencing the World Bank

FAN's work on the World Bank to develop members’ understanding of how civil society can engage.
