The word innovation does not restrict itself to technology and methodology alone. This was proved correct at the Global Forum on Sanitation and Hygiene, which is being held in Mumbai by the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC). The forum participants, who are working on sanitation and hygiene issues are evolving great ideas and techniques to ensure water and sanitation facilities for all, and created many catchy and hilarious slogans to convey their message.
A few of them which are really worth quoting and sharing with others:
- No Bathrooms No Grooms
- No Loo no ‘I Do’
- If you love your wife, give her a toilet
- If you care for your daughter, build a toilet for her
- If Shahjahan could build the Taj Mahal for Mumtaz, why can’t you construct a toilet for me?
- There is Ms World, there is Ms Earth and there is Ms Universe, then why there can’t be a Ms Sanitation?
These innovative slogans not only made the deliberations of specialists interesting and intriguing, they also conveyed the message in a lighter but still effective way.
Thinking about them on a serious note, I feel that these slogans can actually be used in the Hindi speaking nations of South Asia to disseminate the message of sanitation among the public.
