Regional Preparatory Events for the 4th World Water Forum in the Americas
FANCA, FANCA-Mexico, Brazilian Water Caucus and the Mexican Consultative Council on Water are co-organising three regional events for social organisations in the Americas. The meetings will discuss the document of the Americas and prepare sessions from the region.

8-15 RAMSAR Conference, Uganda
This 9th meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on Protection of Wetlands (RAMSAR) will be in Uganda.
14-17 Water Resources in Mediterranean Basin(WATMED2), Marrakech, Morocco
Organised by the University Cadi Ayyad (Marrakech) and University Hassan (Settat), the discussion topics will include: integrated water resources management and water use efficiency; climatic change; urban and domestic wastewaters: treatment and reuse; health related water pollution and environmental policy, regulation and implementation.
13-17 Gender and Integrated Water Resource Management workshop, Dominican Republic
This CAP-NET and the Gender & Water Alliance workshop will look at IWRM in the Caribbean region with gender as a cross cutting issue.

Organized by Action for Food Production (AFPRO) New Delhi, India, the conference is open to practitioners of rain water harvesting from around the world.

16-18 Almaty+5 Ministerial Conference on Water, Yerevan, Armenia
In 2000 EECCA Ministers, senior representatives from OECD, International Institutions, NGOs and the private sector met in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The report Guiding Principles for the Reform of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Sector in the NIS was produced after discussions on the integration of environmental principles into the urban water supply and sanitation sector in EECCA. Almaty +5 will review progress since 2000.

28 November - 3 December, International Workshop on Good Governance in Civil Society, Nepal
Local self-governance has been interpreted in many different ways so as to encompass many different aspects of social organisation and the institutional framework within which social and economic activities are performed. This workshop examines the critical framework of management practices that must address the growing concern for effective self-governance in civil society.
