In November 2007, a contract was signed with the European Commission for funding through the EU Water Facility.

This contract, co-funded by WaterAid and the South African Department for Water Affairs and Forestry, provides a budget of around £500,000 per year for three years to ANEW.

A significant amount of work has gone into setting up the systems necessary for managing the funding across ANEW and its four regional partners.   The project is in its early stages and next year we will begin to see the real results of the funding.

UK Government Governance and Transparency Fund (GTF)

14 FAN members in Africa, Asia and Central America have won funding from the UK Government’s Governance and Transparency Fund (GTF) to strengthen southern civil society actors to engage with policy makers and governments in their countries.  Activities will commence in 2009 and will be a major part of our work for the next five years
