Celebrating Social Commitment: Meeto Memorial Award for Young South Asians
The Meeto Memorial Award commemorates the life of brilliant scholar, activist and dancer Meeto Kamalijt Bhasin-Malik.
The award was set up by her mother Kamla Bhasin to honour young South Asians whose work demonstrates a committment to communal harmony, peace, justice and human rights.
Women and men under forty, engaged in any kind of activism for justice, peace, communal harmony, human rights, will be celebrated and honoured every year.
In the words of her mother, "I hope this award will celebrate committed young people in South Asia, inspire others and strengthen our South Asian identity and solidarity."
