Civil Society Demands Action

African Water Week
The Second African Water Week took place over 9 to 13 November in the spirit of carrying forward the commitments of the Sharm El Sheikh AU Summit on Water and Sanitation.
ANEW General Assembly
ANEW's biennial AGM took place in Maseru, Lesotho on 7-9 October. The historic gathering brought together water and sanitation experts from forty countries across Africa and was attended by over ninety ANEW members as well as the network’s global partners.
Sudan ministries sign Khartoum declaration on water sewage discharge
At the first National Sanitation Workshop held in Sudan on 28-29 July 2009, six Sudanese Ministers responsible for sanitation endorsed a declaration on water sewage discharge.
