4th World Water Forum Mexico 2006
FANs stand at the Water Fair
The stand served as a crucial space for the different NGOs to meet up and strategize, to display their publications and promote their work.
Members found it to be a useful space to conduct informal meetings and a welcoming place to take time to unwind between sessions.

Right to Water event
Together with the Latin American Water Studies Centre (CLAEH), the Women International Network on Water and the Government of Mexico City, we hosted a successful afternoon discussion on Progressing the Right to Water and UN General Comment 15 at the local, national and international level.
The event attracted many local people as it was free and held in downtown Mexico City. The speakers were all excellent but the main attraction was Abel Mamani, Bolivias new Minister of Water and former water activist
(Abel Mamani meets FANCA Coordinator, Jorge Mora Portugeuz)
All the panellists sparked interesting questions and debate from a lively audience.
Claudia Sheinbaumm, Secretary for Environment, Government of Mexico City Henri Smets. French Water Academy Rolando Castro. CEDARENA, Costa Rica Maria Mutagamba, African Minister of Water Affairs and Forestry Simphiwe Nojiyeza, South Africa Water Caucus Ricardo Sanchez. UNEP Director for Latin America and the Caribbean Mary OConnell. Water Aid, United Kingdom (NGO) Mrs. Lesha Witmer, Steering Committee Women for Water
